Your Toilet Is the Hardest-Working Fixture in Your Home

The average person flushes 5-6 times per day. Multiply that by everyone in your household, and your toilet handles thousands of flushes a year. When something goes wrong — running constantly, leaking, clogging, or refusing to flush — you need it fixed now.

All-Star Plumbing handles toilet repairs and installations throughout High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and the Triad. Running toilet wasting water? We fix it. Old toilet you want replaced? We install it. Complete clog that won’t plunge out? We clear it.

According to the EPA, a running toilet can waste 200 gallons per day — that’s 6,000 gallons per month going straight down the drain. A quick repair stops the waste and lowers your water bill.

Signs Your Toilet Needs Repair or Replacement

Here’s what different symptoms usually mean — and whether you need a repair or a new toilet.

Toilet Runs Constantly

Toilet Keeps Clogging

Toilet Leaks at Base

Toilet Wobbles or Rocks

Weak or Incomplete Flush

Toilet Won't Flush at All

Cracks in Tank or Bowl

Toilet Is Old and Inefficient

Toilets We Repair & Install

Standard Two-Piece Toilets

Separate tank and bowl — the most common residential toilet. Easy to repair and replace. We work on all brands.

One-Piece Toilets

Tank and bowl molded together. Sleeker look, easier to clean. Heavier to install but we handle it.

Comfort Height (ADA) Toilets

Taller seat height (17-19 inches vs. standard 15). Easier for adults and those with mobility issues. Popular upgrade.

Low-Flow & Dual-Flush Toilets

Water-efficient models using 1.28 gallons or less per flush. Dual-flush offers light and full flush options. Modern low-flow toilets flush well — unlike early versions.

Wall-Mounted Toilets

Tank concealed in wall, bowl mounted to wall. Clean look, easier floor cleaning. More complex installation but we do it.

Brands We Work With

Kohler, American Standard, TOTO, Delta, Gerber, Mansfield, Glacier Bay, and others. We repair and install all major brands.

Toilet Questions

How long do well pumps last?

Most repairs run $100-$250 depending on what’s wrong. Running toilet fix is on the lower end. Wax ring replacement costs more because we remove and reset the toilet. We quote before starting.

Installation labor typically runs $200-$350. That’s labor only — the toilet itself is separate. If you buy the toilet, we install it. If you want us to supply one, we can do that too.

Yes. Many customers buy from Home Depot, Lowe’s, or online and have us install. Just make sure it’s a standard configuration — or ask us first if you’re unsure.

Usually the flapper isn’t sealing properly. Could also be a faulty fill valve or misadjusted float. These are quick, inexpensive repairs.

Standard installation takes 1-2 hours. If the flange needs repair or there are complications with the drain, it can take longer.

The wax ring seal between the toilet and floor flange has failed. Every time you flush, water seeps out. We remove the toilet, replace the ring, and reset it properly.

If your toilet is pre-1994 (using 3.5-7 gallons per flush), upgrading to a modern 1.28 GPF toilet saves thousands of gallons per year. Modern low-flow toilets flush much better than older versions.
