The Plumbing Part of Your Remodel — Done Right

Renovating a bathroom or kitchen? Adding a basement bath? Moving the laundry room? Every remodel that touches plumbing needs someone who knows pipes, codes, and how to make it all work behind the walls.

We don’t do tile. We don’t do cabinets. We do the plumbing — rough-in for new construction, relocating drains and water lines, hooking up fixtures, and making sure everything passes inspection. That’s our lane, and we stay in it.

Whether you’re working with a general contractor or doing the project yourself, All-Star Plumbing handles the plumbing scope. We show up when you need us, work clean, and get it done so your project stays on schedule.

What We Do for Remodels

Here’s the plumbing work we handle on remodel projects — big or small.

Bathroom Remodel Plumbing

New shower rough-in, tub-to-shower conversions, toilet relocation, vanity plumbing, adding a second sink. We handle the supply lines, drains, and venting for bathroom renovations of any size.

Kitchen Remodel Plumbing

Moving the sink to an island, adding a pot filler, relocating the dishwasher, installing a new garbage disposal. Kitchen remodels often require moving water and drain lines — we make it happen.

Other Remodel Plumbing Services

  • Plumbing rough-in — New pipe installation before walls close up
  • Drain relocation — Moving drains to accommodate new layouts
  • Water line relocation — Rerouting supply lines for new fixture positions
  • Fixture installation — Hooking up sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, faucets
  • Washer/dryer hookups — Adding or relocating laundry connections
  • Gas line installation — For gas ranges, dryers, or other appliances
  • Outdoor plumbing — Adding hose bibs, outdoor sinks, or outdoor kitchen connections

The Remodel Plumbing Process

Remodel plumbing typically happens in two phases:

Phase 1: Rough-In

This happens after the demo and before drywall. We install or relocate the drain lines, water supply lines, and venting inside the walls and under the floor. This work has to be inspected before walls close up.

Phase 2: Finish / Trim-Out

This happens after the walls are finished. We install the fixtures — sinks, faucets, toilets, showers, disposals — and connect everything to the rough-in plumbing. Final connections, testing, and you’re done.

Remodel Plumbing Questions

Do I need a plumber for my remodel?

If you’re moving fixtures, adding fixtures, or changing the layout, yes. Rough-in plumbing requires a licensed plumber and typically requires a permit and inspection.

In North Carolina, homeowners can do some plumbing work on their own home, but permits are still required for new rough-in work, and it must pass inspection. Mistakes behind walls get expensive to fix.

It depends on scope. Simple fixture installation is on the lower end. Full bathroom rough-in with new drains and venting costs more. We provide upfront quotes before starting.

Yes. We coordinate with GCs regularly. Tell us when you need rough-in and trim-out, and we’ll be there.

We work with DIY homeowners too. You handle demo, drywall, tile — we handle the plumbing. Just coordinate timing so we can rough-in before walls close.

When required, yes. Rough-in plumbing for new bathrooms or significant relocations typically requires a permit. We handle the process.
