Hot Water Is Essential — We Treat It That Way

No hot water means no showers, no clean dishes, no laundry. When your water heater fails, everything stops. That’s why water heater calls are one of our top priorities — we get there fast and get your hot water back.

We service and install both tank and tankless water heaters. Traditional tanks, high-efficiency units, gas, electric, propane — we work on all of them. And we’ve been doing it across High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and the Triad since 2007.

According to the Department of Energy, water heating accounts for about 20% of your home’s energy use — second only to heating and cooling. That’s why efficiency matters, and why proper installation and maintenance make a real difference in your utility bills.

Water Heater Services

From a quick repair to a full replacement, here’s what we do.

Leaking tank, no hot water, strange noises, pilot light won’t stay lit — we diagnose the problem and give you options. Sometimes a repair makes sense. Sometimes replacement is the smarter investment. We’ll tell you honestly which is which.

Traditional tank water heaters typically last 10-15 years. If yours is in that range and having problems, replacement often makes more financial sense than repeated repairs.

Tankless units heat water on demand — no tank sitting around keeping 40-50 gallons hot 24/7. That means endless hot water and lower energy bills. The Department of Energy estimates tankless water heaters can be 24-34% more efficient for homes using 41 gallons or less daily.

We install Navien, Rinnai, and other top tankless brands. Proper sizing and installation are critical — an undersized unit won’t keep up, and improper venting creates safety hazards. We do it right.

Annual maintenance extends water heater life and keeps it running efficiently. Sediment builds up in tanks over time, insulating water from the burner and making the unit work harder. A simple flush removes that buildup.

For tankless units, descaling removes mineral deposits that reduce efficiency and can damage components. In the Triad’s moderately hard water, this matters.

Tank vs. Tankless — Which Is Right for You?

Both have pros and cons. Here’s the honest breakdown.

Traditional Tank Water Heaters

Pros:

Cons:

Best for: Larger households with high simultaneous demand, budget-conscious buyers, simple replacement situations.

Tankless Water Heaters

Pros:

Cons:

Best for: Smaller households, energy-conscious homeowners, homes wanting to free up space, long-term investment mindset.

What's Wrong With Your Water Heater?

Tell us what’s happening. We’ll point you to the right service.

What it means: Pilot light out (gas), tripped breaker (electric), failed thermostat, or failed heating element.
Check first: Pilot light or breaker. If those are fine, call us.

Likely service: Water Heater Repair

What it means: Thermostat issue, failing heating element, sediment buildup, or undersized unit.

Likely service: Water Heater Repair or Maintenance

What it means: Could be T&P valve (normal safety release), inlet/outlet connections, or tank failure.

If leaking from bottom: Tank may be failing — call soon.

What it means: Sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank. Water trapped under sediment boils and pops.

Likely service: Water Heater Maintenance — flush the tank.

What it means: Anode rod is depleted and tank is corroding, or pipes are rusting.
If only hot water is rusty: It’s the water heater, not your pipes.

Likely service: Water Heater Repair — may need anode rod or replacement.

What it means: Thermocouple failure, gas valve issue, or draft problem.

Likely service: Water Heater Repair

What it means: Approaching or past typical lifespan. Even if working now, failure may be coming.
Recommendation: Consider proactive replacement before it fails unexpectedly — often at the worst possible time.

Likely service: Water Heater Replacement

Why Professional Water Heater Service Matters

Water heaters involve gas lines, electrical connections, venting, and pressure. Improper installation creates fire, explosion, and carbon monoxide risks. We do it to code every time.

An undersized water heater can’t keep up. An oversized one wastes energy. We size units correctly for your household and usage patterns.

Most manufacturer warranties require professional installation. DIY or handyman installs can void coverage on a unit that should be protected for years.

Proper installation and maintenance keep your water heater running at peak efficiency. That 20% of your energy bill adds up — efficiency matters.

Well-maintained water heaters last longer. Annual maintenance can add years to your unit’s life, delaying the cost of replacement.

Water Heater Questions

How long do water heaters last?

Traditional tank water heaters typically last 10-15 years. Tankless units can last 20+ years with proper maintenance. Age, water quality, and maintenance all affect lifespan.

General rule: If your water heater is under 8 years old and the repair is under 50% of replacement cost, repair makes sense. Over 10-12 years with repeated problems? Replacement is usually smarter.

Tank water heaters: $1,200-$2,500 installed typical. Tankless: $3,000-$5,500 installed typical. Exact cost depends on type, size, fuel source, and any needed upgrades. We quote before starting.

Tank replacement: 2-4 hours typical. Tankless installation: 4-8 hours depending on whether gas/electrical upgrades are needed. We give you a timeline when we quote.

Often, yes. If you call in the morning and we have your unit in stock (or can get it quickly), we can usually install same-day. Call to check availability.

AO Smith, Rheem, Bradford White, State for tank water heaters. Navien and Rinnai for tankless. All quality brands with solid warranties.

Depends on your priorities. Tank is lower upfront cost, simpler. Tankless is more efficient, lasts longer, endless hot water. We can help you decide based on your household size and goals.
